Privacy policy

What we collect

• Newsletter email address — if you subscribe, your email address is held by our email provider (Buttondown) solely to send you the newsletter you asked for. Unsubscribe in one click on any email.
• Correspondence — if you email us (corrections, general enquiries), we keep the thread while handling it.
• Server logs — our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (IP address, page requested) for security and operation, held briefly and not reviewed unless investigating abuse.

What we do not collect (yet you may assume every site does)

• No advertising cookies or tracking pixels. ReQompass carries no display advertising and no ad networks.
• No analytics trackers. We currently run no user-tracking analytics. Before any is ever added, this page will be updated first and only privacy-preserving, cookie-free measurement will be considered.
• No sale or sharing of personal data. We do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone, for any reason, ever.

Lawful bases

Newsletter delivery runs on your consent (withdrawable any time via unsubscribe). Correspondence and server logs run on legitimate interests (answering you; keeping the site secure).

Retention

Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, then deleted from active lists. Correspondence is retained up to 24 months for correction-record purposes, then removed unless a dispute requires otherwise.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any right, email privacy@reqompass.com — we respond within 30 days as the law requires. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Material changes to this policy are posted on this page with a new date above. Last updated: October 2026.
